Only a small percentage of UK businesses have automated user account management
Study: 2004 Information Security Breaches Survey Date: April 2004 Companies are increasingly automating the process for granting, changing, and removing access. 31% of large businesses follow this practice compared with 16% of businesses overall. Some have automated the provisioning process so that authorization of a user access request triggers the automatic set up of the required access rights on the relevant systems.
